Overall Results
The graph below summarises our overall results.
The ratings given by evaluators in the experiments gave a generally positive response towards the turtle, though several of the evaluators expressed a question as to the usefulness of the Second Life avatar and found this avatar a distraction; conversely, one evaluator found the avatar to be extremely useful for indicated things such as current location and proximity to a turtle area.
Whilst issues were raised in the implementation as to the use of the integrated chat system rather than a text editor, evaluators reported no problem with using the chat system as currently used.
The evaluations did however reveal a variety of bugs, many of which would be easy to fix.
Feature Requests
During the evaluation procedure, a number of questions were asked relating to additional potential within the system. As a result, a number of feature requests were made.
- The ability to save drawings
- The ability to be able to use mathematical functions and equations to control the turtle
- Improving orientation of the turtle as it was found to be difficult to ascertain which way was left/right/up/down - maybe colour the underside a different colour
- The ability for the turtle to calculate angles between lines, to assist with drawing complex shapes
